Deck the halls with the sound of laughter when you join the hardest-working man in snow biz as he takes a well-deserved vacation. Based on the books by Raymond Briggs, the creator of the Oscar-Nominated classic "The Snowman" (Best Animated Short Film, 1982), "Father Christmas" is delightful holiday entertainment that's fun for the whole family. Father Christmas' job isn't as easy as everyone thinks. His preparations for the Big Night are an exhausting, year-round affair and he decides it's high time he takes a holiday. He converts his sleigh into a camper trailer, hitches it to the reindeer and flies off into the sky for a globe-hopping vacation. His first stop is France, where Santa over-indulges in the delicious gourmet cuisine. His next stop is Scotland, which proves far too cold, even for St. Nick. Then, he's off to Las Vegas, where he lounges in lavish splendor by the swimming pool at Nero's Palace.

This lavish presentation of the traditional Christmas song features Robert Sabuda's ingenious cut-out illustrations which re-create the scenes--from a partridge in a pear tree to the twelve lords-'a-leaping--in a very untraditional way! Colorful backgrounds combine with white pop-ups for a knockout effect, featuring lavish touches such as gold foil, acetate, mylar, a cloth spine, a special paper stock, and a one-of-a-kind pop-up snow globe.
